My novel

Recipient of the Catholic Writer's Guild Seal of Approval

The Life I Dreamed
Motherhood is a gift.
Children are a blessing.
Marriage is a sacrament.
Emmy O’Brien knows all that.  There was even a time she fought to promote those very values and beliefs.  After having four children in rapid succession though, the demands of home and family have blurred her strong convictions. Tired, overwhelmed, and dissatisfied much of the time, she struggles each day to meet the needs of those around her.  When her husband receives a phone call from a 16 year old girl, unexpectedly pregnant and suddenly homeless, Emmy’s world is turned upside down and she must now decide, are her old-fashioned values and beliefs still worth fighting for?

  1. Kari! I can't wait to find out more!! How are you getting on with the editing? What a great idea sharing your novel here on your blog. I wonder if you will make an ebook, maybe a Kindle book. I've been thinking about doing this but I'll have to make a start on the editing first!

  2. Sue- I have been thinking I will publish to Kindle. I read a little about it on the NaNo site and it looks easy enough. I may only sell one or two copies to friends or family, but who knows maybe I will sell more?!?!?!?

Either way, I figured it is worth a try. If you do the same let me know, I would love to check out your book, and maybe your beautiful daughters' too. :)

  3. Kari,

I downloaded a free ebook, "Publish on Amazon Kindle". It's available from the Kindle Store.

We'll read each other's books! That's one copy each sold!

  5. Just stopped by to ask how the editing of your NaNoWRiMo novel is going. I haven't looked at my novel for a long time. Yesterday the girls asked when they can read it so I guess I better get a move on!
