An announcement-- FINALLY!

Yes, I can
finally
officially,
excitedly,
announce......

That my novel is published and
available for purchase!!!!!!!!

I thought about the idea for years.
I worked on it for months (and months).
I waited for the proof copy, the final copy, the word from Amazon that it was listed
for weeks.

And now, I can say
I am truly an author!

My novel, The Life I Dreamed, can be found here in paperback, and here in Kindle edition.

I do not want to give anything away, but I will say it is a pro-life novel about a young Catholic family who is trying to do what is right and follow God's plan for their life.

If you are interested, it is actually and officially possible for you to buy the book!!!!!!

:)

  1. Congratulations, Kari! I was so excited to see your email this morning. I am going to buy my copy as soon as I've written this comment! I can't wait to read your novel.

Guess what I'm doing? I'm sitting here at my computer fine-tuning my own novel. Your example has spurred me on to finish my own book and get it published.

Was it difficult publishing your book on Kindle? Did it take much work formatting it properly? I'd love to hear any publishing advice or suggestions you have.

Why don't you write a post about your novel writing experience for our ACF blog? I'm sure readers would love to hear all about your book.

    God bless!

  2. Sue-

Thank you!! I hope you like my story. I am a bit nervous about having others read my work. The story means so much to me, I hope it is enjoyable and meaningful for others as well.

I am anxious to read your novel as well. My husband helped me with most of the technical parts of publishing, but he said publishing to Kindle was very easy. All you have to do is submit your work in a PDF and Kindle does the formatting for you. The book was a lot more work but there is just something about holding a book, with my own name on it, in my hand!

I would love to share my experience on ACF. It may take me a few days. The kids have me driving all over town taking them here and there tomorrow. :)

    Thanks again, Kari

  4. Gardenia- Thank you! If you enjoy the story, I hope you will let others know. Word of mouth is my best form of marketing! :)

    Bless you, Kari

  5. Kari,

I finished your book yesterday. We had to drive to Sydney which is a journey I hate because it means driving through the city with all its traffic. I read your book the whole way and it was the best trip to Sydney I can remember! I didn't emerge from the book until we'd arrived, I was so engrossed in your story.

All the characters are so real and life-like. I got so involved in their story. I was quite sorry to get to the end. Perhaps you could write a sequel!

When I get a moment I will write something a bit more coherent about your book so I can share it with others.

    Congratulations on a wonderful book!!!

  6. Sue-

Thank you for your glowing appraisal. I am so glad you enjoyed the story. Yours is only the second opinion I have gotten, and it is wonderful to hear that at least two people liked reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

I have not had a chance to sit down and write about my book for ACF, but I would be honored if you would share your thoughts there instead. I am sure it would mean even more to the readers to get an unbiased review of it, then just to read my point of view.

Thank you again, so very much. God Bless, Kari

  7. Kari,

We could do 2 posts for the ACF blog. You could do one about how you came to write the novel, maybe modifying a post from your blog. I can write about how much I enjoyed it!

Are you going to do NaNoWriMo again this year?

    God bless!

  8. Sue- Sounds good to me!!

As far as doing NaNoWriMo again-- I am not sure. At first, I thought, of course I'll do it again. It was a wonderful experience but now that I have been through it once, I can see it is a lot of work and a huge emotional and physical undertaking.

I feel like writing another book so soon would be like climbing a mountain and right now I am at the very bottom staring up at the great height of it wondering if I have it in me again..... So we will see.... but mostly like- yes, I'll do it all over again! I loved it!

Will you be up for mountain climbing with me? :)
