My Australian debut!

As of today I am an official contributor at Australian Catholic Families!  I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful group of bloggers and to be part of such a beautiful ministry for Catholic families.

I do feel, however, that I should justify explain my involvement considering that I am not Australian, nor have I ever actually set foot upon Australian soil.

It was about a year ago that I “met” Sue Elvis, founder and facilitator of australiancatholicfamilies.com, through the wonderful world of blogging.  I first encountered her beautiful home schooling blog and then later discovered her family blog, as well.  Over the course of the last 12 months (or so) I have been repeatedly inspired and encouraged by Sue’s writing.  When she asked me to be a part of Australian Catholic Families, I was thrilled.

The fact that Australian Catholic Families, though obviously originally intended for Australian families, is now expanding to include bloggers from around the globe is such a beautiful testament to the marks of our Catholic faith. We are one, holy, catholic and apostolic.  We are a universal Church, not an American Church or an Australian Church but one church.  We are united in our creed, united under our Holy Father, united in our Liturgy, and united in our mission to build up the Body of Christ in the world.  All Catholic families, no matter their location or address, are a part of the same Body of Christ.  We are all called to evangelize to others, as well as to support and pray for one another.   The Australian Catholic Families blog is doing just that- uniting, evangelizing, and supporting.  And I am truly honored to be a part of it.  Please be sure to check it out to "meet" all the talented writers and to enjoy their wonderful faith-filled stories.

  1. Kari,

What a great post. Thank you so much for writing about our ACF blog and for all your kind words. I love how you expressed the mission of our blog and your words, "All Catholic families, no matter their location or address, are a part of the same Body of Christ."

We started out as a newsletter edited by local homeschoolers and then we moved to the blogosphere. I thought only our local Catholic families would be interested in the blog but it is growing! I am so grateful for the interest and help of other bloggers, both from Australia and overseas. I never expected such a wonderful response from everyone.

Thank you, Kari for your own involvement. I was so pleased to start our month of special posts with one of your stories. It has had a great response. Our page views has suddenly lifted to an all time high. There have also been lots of 'likes' on FB where I share our links.

    God bless you!

  2. I took my last final this morning and have the entire summer off—no classes—yahoo! I’m really looking forward to catching up on all the blog reading I’ve missed out on lately. Be sure to write up a little tidbit about one of your favorite posts, or blogs—or share something of your own on “Pay It Forward” for May. I’ve appreciated your participation in the past. I’ll be making the rounds and seeing what everyone has been up to while I’ve been cramming for tests and writing essays … I can’t wait!

  6. Holly-

I will be thinking about which post might fit for Pay It Forward this month. I enjoyed being a part of it in April.

I certainly do not mind at all that you mentioned my in your humility story. I am pleased to hear my story spoke to you. I only hope it was more inspiring than convicting. :)

    Thanks again, Kari
